GREENWICH ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® DELIVERS PADDINGTON™ GIFTS TO CHILDREN IN LOCAL SHELTERS

The plush bears were “raised” to help local families remain in their homes.

Approximately 2,600 people across CT are homeless on any given night and 1 in 7 of those are children under 18. Paddington™ bears were “raised” as part of the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness 6th annual be homeful for the holidays campaign. For every $25 donated, the CT REALTORS® Foundation sponsored the gift of a Paddington bear for a child spending the holidays in a shelter or a backpack for older children. This allowed all money raised to go directly to the be homeful fund. The fund provides emergency assistance that frontline workers can access to help local families remain in their homes rather than enter the shelter system. The be homeful project has served over 1,900 children in 900 families since 2015.

This year, the Greenwich Association of REALTORS® delivered gifts locally to Kids in Crisis in Cos Cob and the YWCA in Greenwich. In total, GAR delievered around 190 bears and 50 back packs to both organizations.
