Greenwich REALTORS® Celebrates 100 Year Anniversary
This coming year, 2024, the Greenwich Association of Realtors will be celebrating 100 years!
Greenwich Realtors have always been integral and influential in the Greenwich Community. You don’t have to dig too deeply to see how involved Greenwich Realtors have been in the Greenwich Community since our early days, over 100 years ago.
Involvement comes in many forms. First and foremost in our professional duties as Realtors but equally important as involved members of the community and ambassadors for the Town of Greenwich giving back to our community in time and resources.
Our organization was formed as an offshoot of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce back in 1924. At that time there were approximately 26 Greenwich Realtor members, including one woman, which was seen as quite progressive at the time. Since then, our organization has grown to over 850 members.
Our association has prided ourselves on how our membership has and continues to be ambassadors for the town. Our history shows we have been deeply involved in the Greenwich community. We have been strong advocates on many issues including affordable housing, land conservancy, homeownership rights, historic preservation, planning and zoning etc. We have given back in many ways by sharing our expertise on committees and organizations throughout town, but we have also, always given back by financially supporting many local organizations including Kids in Crisis, Neighbor to Neighbor, The United Way, Abilis, HomeFront, River House, the Transportation Association of Greenwich, and many more.
This year, in our 100th year of operation, we will be formally creating a non-profit charitable organization, The Greenwich Association of Realtors Community Foundation that will help formalize and grow our philanthropic endeavors.
Our Gala event on April 4th, 2024 will help us kick off our fundraising for the new community foundation as we celebrate 100 years of serving the Greenwich Community.
