Stevens Named 2011 Greenwich REALTOR® of the Year

STEVENS IS GREENWICH’S REALTOR® OF THE YEAR 2011

January 25, 2012 (Greenwich, CT)—The Greenwich Association of REALTORS® (GAR) announced that Douglas Stevens of Greenwich Fine Properties is GAR’s REALTOR® of the Year 2011.

Stevens, of Greenwich, Ct., served as president of the Greenwich Association of REALTORS and the Greenwich Multiple Listing Service in 2010 and 2011. Stevens was also instrumental in contributing to GAR’s members through her leadership on several committees over the past five years including risk reduction, grievance, professional standards and scholarship. Stevens also serves on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Association of REALTOR®.

Stevens is a strong contributor to the education and mentoring of real estate professionals and those in the Greenwich community. Stevens is a fifth generation native of Greenwich. His great great grandfather was Henry Held, an early developer of Greenwich Avenue real estate and homeowner in Indian Harbor.

He has been licensed and a REALTOR for 36 years. His tenure has included managing the former William Pitt real estate office, and then managing the Sotheby’s International Realty office before leaving to open Greenwich Fine Properties, an independent real estate firm in town. Stevens’ colleagues credit him for always taking action on issues, being detailed in his pursuits for accuracy and transparency and for leading other to embrace change and encouraging them to make the right decisions for the benefit of the whole.

Stevens was presented the REALTOR® of the Year award by Linda Hodge, a former Director of the Board of GAR and 2003’s REALTOR® of the Year.

The REALTOR® of the Year Award is the highest honor presented to a member and is based upon leadership and contributions made to the Greenwich Association of REALTORS®, the Connecticut Association of REALTORS®, National Association of REALTORS®, and the Greenwich community.
